How we started
In 1998 we started CyberInnovation.com with a focus on website development and email
hosting for organizations of all types. It was a young Internet at the time and I created our first website with Microsoft Publisher! I hosted the website on a Pentium 133mhz server at Iowa Electronics in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I purchased and setup a new POP email program called iMail and we were in business. I registered the website with Yahoo.com as they were the only “real” search engine at the time and within weeks the phone started ringing off the hook!
We started creating websites and hosting email for companies all over the country and looking back I never realized at the time how easy this was. The technology then we very basic and very few organizations had a website so this was a new concept and they hesitated to set up an email solution as well.
We branded our email solution around our domain name EmailCentral.net and hosted email for thousands of people! Cyber Innovation continued to grow as the Internet exploded and we added people and services to help our growing client base.
The hosting and data center portion of the company was sold in 2002 and it was time for me to pursue my life long dream of investing in Real Estate and other business ideas. I was one of the co-developers of SpamBlockerServices.com which to this day blocks SPAM and Virus email for organizations around the US.
Fast forward to today and I’m as excited about blogging and social networking as I was in 1998 when I started Cyber Innovation.
From 1998 till around 2006 Billions of websites were created and Google, MSN became the top search engines along with Yahoo. Now the only way to get to the top of the search engines was to be really good with keywords, SEO or have a large tech budget. The small organizations really had no chance but along came blogging and social networking!
Blogging allows anyone to publish their thoughts, ideas, opinions and more. Blogging also allowed others to follow who THEY wanted to and comment on blog posts. Now a blog was fresh content updated regularly so blogs started climbing the search engines. Now small organizations had a chance to be on the first page of search engines without invest countless hours on keywords or huge budgets on their SEO strategy.
Next WordPress.org allowed people to use their software for free but build pages around their blog. This wasn’t free blogging like WordPress.com or Blogger.com but free sites were for personal blogging. Hosted sites are for organizations to do business. If you have a service, item or cause to promote you can do it with a blog and monetize with affiliate marketing or selling AdWords!
The “total package” of blogging with automated connections to Social Networking is what CyberInnovation.com is all about. As a Realtor traditional marketing has gone away and now your listings are online but how do people find you? You have to blog about your community and use social networking to drive people to your listings. Read more on our page dedicated to Realtors.
No matter your type of organization we can help you learn through classes how to build and manage your own blog/social network strategies and eliminate your webmaster/developer.
Or we can build a solution for you and give you the keys and teach you how to manage it. Take time to view our site ask questions, get our newsletters and let us help you get more with technology while saving time!
